WELCOME BACK

Welcome back to Term 2.  I hope everyone had a lovely restful holiday break and got to spend some family time together.  I am loving having the delightful job of filling in for Ms Todd as Acting Principal.  It’s been lovely to see the children back at school and ready for a new term of learning.  Please remember your child’s jacket or jumper and beanie as the weather starts to become much cooler, especially in the mornings.

ANZAC DAY

Anzac Day fell in the school holidays, and we were very fortunate to have students represent our school at the Anzac Day Service.  Annabelle Ives and Ella-Rose Ciantar went along and laid a wreath from Devonport Primary during the service.  A big thank you to Mr Mark Jago who supported our students in doing this on the day.  Anzac Day has very special significance and it is an honour to be part of recognising the brave soldiers who fought for our country.

CROSS COUNTRY

On a lighter note, we will be having our Cross Country Carnival on Thursday 15th May.  Our 3-6 Carnival will begin at 11:15 am on our school oval and the Early Childhood Carnival (K-2) will begin at 1:30 pm.  You are most welcome to come along and cheer and encourage our students.

ELECTION DAY SAUSAGE SIZZLE

Devonport Primary will be an election polling place this Saturday on Election Day.  Our School Association will be holding a fundraising BBQ, raising funds for our school.  Sausages are $3 and they will be available from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.  Come along to vote and grab a delicious sausage!

MS TODD'S TRAVEL ADVENTURES

As you know Ms Todd and Dixie are having a wonderful adventure exploring the mainland of Australia. She has sent in an update of her trip with photos for the students to see what she has been doing.  She is having lots of fun.

SCHOOL REMINDERS:-

  • Carpark Safety – Carpark is for staff use – we want this to be a safe zone for all students and reducing cars helps keep students safer.
  • School Drop Off – Students are not supervised before 8:40 am, so please do not drop students off before this time. We want all students to be safe…. at all times.
